When Chip and I began our search for the right Vizsla, a friend told us about an awesome litter in Florida. After waiting for what seemed like forever, we drove to Pensacola to pick up “little purple girl” the day after Thanksgiving, 2004. From the moment I saw her big golden eyes, I knew we were hooked. And so began our journey into the world of Vizslas.

Roux is a once in a lifetime friend and what is best described as “my heart dog.” She is a fantastic snuggler, extremely affectionate and never meets a stranger. Roux has a stunning and intense point and a natural honor. She has passed along these wonderful traits to her get. Roux finished her Master Hunter title in January 2011. I entered her in a field trial for fun and she won a 3 point Amateur Retrieving major! A year to the day from her first blue ribbon Roux finished her Dual Champion title with 3 majors and 8 retrieving points. She retired 2 points shy of her Amateur Field Championship as well. She amazes me more each time she runs.

Roux’s first litter far exceeded even my highest expectations. 7 of the 9 puppies are prized in NAVHDA including 4 Prize I’s, qualifying us for a NAVHDA Breeder’s Award. Roux earned her Registry of Merit (ROM) from the VCA with one litter. The Krewe is currently competing in the field, show ring, agility, rally, obedience and coursing. We couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments. 

At the end of the day, Roux is the first to greet us at the door with a toy in her mouth and a wiggly butt that doesn’t stop. She is everything I could have asked for in our first vizsla plus so much more!
